PTI Secretary General has said that the situation in different areas of Punjab is worrying, hundreds of people were picked up and beaten up. Afghanistan is the center of terrorism and Pakistan has the right to defend itself

r;">

Pakistan’s position is very clear that Islamabad wants peace but cannot compromise on its national security

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif gave a clear message to Afghanistan in the most important security meeting with Field Marshal Army Chief Asim Munir in Bannu that Afghanistan should choose between Fitna al-Kharij or Pakistan. Pakistan has told the Afghan leadership many times in major international forums and in the past that Afghan soil is being used against Pakistan, which has caused irreparable damage to Pakistan, including attacks on security forces and terrorist incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. All these reservations of Pakistan were completely ignored by the Afghan leadership, after which Pakistan has now adopted a very tough stance. Because Afghanistan has become a center of terrorism and considering the threats arising from there, Pakistan’s right to defend itself is intact, Pakistan’s security needs are also our top priority and red line on which there can be no compromise.

Looking back at history, relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have been fraught with conflict and ups and downs since the beginning. Despite geographical proximity, religious and cultural ties, and historical ties, the relations between brotherly Islamic countries have always been fraught with distrust, security concerns, and political differences. Afghanistan has failed to maintain a relationship of trust with Pakistan from day one due to the Durand Line dispute. During the Soviet-Afghan War, Pakistan, with the blessing and cooperation of the United States, jointly supported the Afghan war, after which millions of Afghan refugees came to Pakistan, and Pakistan is still hosting these Afghan refugees well, but this is a big burden on Pakistan's economy. According to recent statistics, the number of registered and unregistered Afghan refugees in Pakistan is about 3.5 to 4 million. Some of the Afghan refugees are found to be involved in terrorist networks, drugs and smuggling and solid evidence of this has also come to light. Pakistan has raised this issue many times, but due to human rights issues and international pressure, this issue is not being resolved. Thus, if we examine the Taliban regime in Afghanistan from 1996-2001, Pakistan was among the few countries that recognized the Taliban government, but after that, 9/11 happened, which brought about a drastic change in the politics of the whole world and Pakistan also fell victim to American pressure and had to express indifference. Pakistan is facing very serious problems on both security and economic aspects due to border crossing, smuggling and illegal movement from the Durand Line. Pakistan had started fencing the Durand Line since 2017, in which significant progress has been made.

Pakistan has convinced the international community and Afghanistan that Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan) and other terrorist groups attack Pakistan from Afghan soil and that attacks on Pakistan are planned there with Indian blessing. It has become very clear that the current Taliban government of Afghanistan is not only unable to stop these terrorist groups, but is also taking a soft approach in this regard. It is also important and should be kept in mind that there are different factions within the Taliban government, some hardline groups that fuel the anti-Pakistan narrative.

After the return of the Taliban and their entry into the government setup in 2021, Pakistan was fully confident that border issues and terrorist incidents would end now, but in reality nothing like this happened, rather the attacks by Fitna al-Khawarij and the banned TTP increased. Clashes took place at the border crossing and several incidents of border closure have been reported. Pakistan has raised these issues with Afghanistan at the diplomatic level, political platform and government level, but the result is zero. Proxies and Indian influence in Afghanistan have always been a cause of concern for Pakistan. Islamabad has solid evidence and this has been told many times at the international level and evidence has also been shown to Kabul that India is using Afghan soil to carry out terrorism in Pakistan and is seeking peace in Pakistan. Pakistan has repeatedly raised this issue at forums like the UN, OIC and Shanghai Cooperation Organization SCO, and has been demanding effective measures from the international community.

Pakistan-Afghanistan relations are stuck in a crisis of trust. Pakistan’s concerns are mostly related to security and border issues, the Afghan government will have to take steps to promote its relations with Pakistan, mutual cooperation, confidence building and common interests. Otherwise, the peace and development of the entire region will be affected. The incidents of terrorism from Afghan soil have resulted in civilian casualties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal districts. Pakistan does not want to sever ties with Afghanistan, but if the terrorist groups are not stopped, Pakistan will be forced to take unilateral measures. The best strategy for Pakistan is to formulate a three-point strategy to deal with this issue and use all three options in a sequence. In the first phase, diplomatic pressure should be increased on Kabul and the international community should be taken into confidence. Under the second strategy, the border check points and fence system should be further strengthened. If these two measures fail to resolve the issue of terrorism, then Pakistan reserves the right to defend its territory. Pakistan's position is very clear that Islamabad wants peace but cannot compromise on its national security.

Now the world will learn a lesson from Iran

Will Washington no longer be the world capital? The center of power will not be across the Atlantic Ocean, but will shift to the area where it was ten thousand years ago, having previously traveled from here and moved 10 thousand miles away.

This new world has tried that now wars will not be around it, but across the sea in Europe, in the densely populated cities of Asia or in the deserts of Africa. We, the people of the East and the residents of Asia, should be grateful to US President Donald Trump and his fanatical Defense Minister that global hegemony is leaving the White House due to their long-winded words. Our greatest gratitude is to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who had he not taken the US President hostage, the center of power would not have crossed the seven seas so quickly, passing through Europe and reaching South Asia.

There is a strange kind of awareness and awakening in the whole world. A world of fear and hope. There is also an unknown fear and a false hope. Earlier, it seemed that the world was devoid of ideas and deprived of leadership. But Iran’s 50-day resistance proved that a state is both ideological and economic and equipped with modern weapons technology. 47 years of sanctions have not paralyzed it but have kept it active and active. There has been a trend of research on Iran’s perseverance and resistance all over the world. It was through Al Jazeera’s broadcast that I came to know about a book “Iran and Economic War”. This book tells the reader that when sanctions are imposed on a society, a state is chained and an economy is put under arrest. What a price America had to pay for this.

How did this shorten Iran’s life span and what price the world had to pay for it. This is a permanent siege. I am going through its pages, its final chapter. Permanent siege. It tells with figures and facts that the results of these long sanctions will be what America expects. What will be the effects of such economic imprisonment and hardship on a nation's people? A century ago, Wilson said that these sanctions are tantamount to subjugating and strangling a nation. But no matter how painful this strangulation is. It creates a spirit of resistance in a nation. The results will not be what America expected, but what the world has been content with for this long period.

These words of the concluding paragraph of the book written in 2024 are being proven word by word today in April 2026. How ninety million Iranians learned to live under sanctions imposed for more than 40 years. Poverty, strife remained, but the quality of education did not decline, exports, imports, travel restrictions were all in their place. We had the opportunity to go to a book fair in Tehran during Mr. Ahmadinejad's time, and we observed how seminars were being held in Iranian universities, foreign researchers and guests were being hosted. The journey of research was ongoing. In 2008, we were shown films in a research institute that Iran is the first Islamic country to have created its own sheep through stem cells and cloning. The scholars have formally allowed this.

The ethics committee has imposed some restrictions on how the animals produced in this way will be kept separate from ordinary animals. The first sheep has grown up. It is living a happy life. Research in modern sciences and teaching in scientific sciences have progressed. Now that Iran has opened the Strait of Hormuz until the ceasefire in April 2026, giving the world a chance to breathe a sigh of relief. So the whole world, especially Muslim countries, should research these 45 years instead of avoiding Iran. Iqbal comes to mind.

I remember the path of the rich, not the poor

I remember the carpets of Iran earlier. Now the reference to Iran is ballistic missiles and drones. We who are afraid. We keep borrowing on loans at a time when we are about to set the table for negotiations again between two dynamic countries on the global horizon, the United States and Iran. Now, for us, not America, but Iran will be worthy of study and observation to see how it is possible to live with pride and honor under sanctions.

Gaza Board of Peace. A ray of peace?

Recently, the signing ceremony of the draft of the “Gaza Board of Peace” at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, was the center of attention around the world. On this occasion, heads of state of 20 countries including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Indonesia, Turkey and Morocco signed the charter of the Gaza Board of Peace along with US President Donald Trump. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif signed the draft of the Board of Peace on behalf of Pakistan. Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir was also present at the ceremony. US President Donald Trump thanked the leaders who signed the charter, especially Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and appreciated their role for peace. Trump said that today is a memorable day for peace and now Gaza will be rebuilt.

It should be remembered that US President Donald Trump had announced the establishment of the “Gaza Board of Peace” on September 29, 2025, to establish peace in Gaza. The main objectives of the Board include a permanent solution to the Gaza issue, a permanent ceasefire, the reconstruction of Gaza, the establishment of lasting peace and the protection of the rights of the Palestinians, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. In this regard, on November 17 last year, the United Nations Security Council approved a resolution submitted by the United States, which also included the establishment of an “international peacekeeping force” consisting of forces from different countries to establish peace in Gaza. Under the charter of the Board, US President Donald Trump will be the Chairman of the Gaza Peace Board, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and other important international figures will be members of the Board.

The establishment of the Peace Board is a significant step towards preventing the massacre in Gaza and protecting the Palestinian people. Pakistan’s participation in the Board highlights its diplomatic importance, which it achieved thanks to its victory in the war and strategic supremacy in the region. Pakistan has been a strong voice in favor of Palestine at the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international forums and has a clear, principled and unambiguous position on the Palestinian issue. This position is not merely political but is based on moral, religious and humanitarian grounds. Pakistan is among the few countries that have never recognized Israel nor made any compromise on the Palestinian cause.

This is why if Pakistan plays a role of mediator, recommendation or policy-making in the Gaza Peace Board, it will not have to face allegations of dubious intentions or double standards. Therefore, it is beyond understanding for some political parties in Pakistan to criticize Pakistan’s participation in the Gaza Peace Board and reject Pakistan’s participation.

When the board includes Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia, Morocco and the UAE, it is a matter of honor for Pakistan to be the first Islamic nuclear country to become a part of the board. If Pakistan were not part of the Peace Board along with other important Islamic countries, it would have created the impression that the Muslims of these countries have left the Palestinian Muslims at the mercy of Israel, and Pakistan’s political and religious parties would have taunted the government for not including Pakistan in the board. India is not among the countries that signed the Peace Board Charter, which is because India fears that if the US Peace Board succeeds in establishing peace in Gaza, then in the future, attempts will be made to resolve the Kashmir issue in the same way.

The biggest tragedy of Gaza is not only the Israeli bombing and the genocide of Palestinians, but also the division of the Muslim world. Pakistan, which is not part of any Arab bloc, can play the role of a bridge between other Islamic countries as a neutral Islamic state. Pakistan’s presence in the Gaza Peace Board can be a symbol of the unity that the Muslim Ummah desperately needs. In this regard, Pakistan can emerge as an effective voice at the diplomatic level by playing an important role in the Peace Board. In this context, Pakistan can increase global pressure for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, guaranteeing safe aid routes for Palestinians, and demanding an independent investigation into Israeli war crimes.

Israel, which occupies more than half of the Gaza Strip, maintains that it will withdraw from Gaza only when Hamas disarms, while Hamas says it will disarm only under a comprehensive agreement on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

In such a situation, it will certainly be a big challenge for the Peace Board to resolve these complex and sensitive issues to the satisfaction of the parties. Whether the “Peace Board” established by US President Donald Trump will be able to establish the peace in Gaza that even the United Nations has not been able to bring about, will be decided only by time. However, the prominent presence of several important Islamic countries, including Pakistan, on the Board has certainly raised hopes that Israel will not be allowed to engage in open aggression and genocide against the Palestinians as before.

Trump and Gorbachev

The law of the jungle, whose stick is its buffalo or the philosophy of might as right has been ruling the world for most of human history, but after seeing the devastating results of the two world wars in the last century, all the nations of the world had decided that they would settle their differences and disputes not by force and on the battlefield but at the negotiating table and joint efforts would be made for the development and prosperity of the entire human community.

The historic conference for this purpose was organized by the United States, which emerged as the largest global power after World War II. 80 years ago today, representatives of fifty countries in San Francisco agreed to form an international organization for the sake of world peace after about two months of deliberation from April 25 to June 26, 1945. The then US President Franklin D. Roosevelt suggested the name of this organization as the United Nations Organization. The Charter of this organization was presented to the world with the declaration that “We, the Members of the United Nations, have determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war. We will ensure the restoration of fundamental human rights and to promote respect for and dignity of human beings. We will ensure the equal rights of men and women, of nations large and small. We will create conditions in which the obligations imposed by treaties and international law can be fulfilled. In a larger atmosphere of freedom, the pace of social progress and the standard of life can be improved.” The establishment of the United Nations and then the leading role of the United States under its patronage gave it the impression of being the global standard bearer of human rights, freedom and international peace and security. It gained the position of the leader of the civilized world and, in fact, played a very valuable role in the development of the entire human community through the establishment of higher educational institutions and scientific research organizations. The full support of American governments for global health, climate change and other institutions related to human welfare established under the United Nations contributed to the well-being of people all over the world. American cooperation with the United Nations has also proved fruitful in many international conflicts. However, due to America's lack of interest in a fair settlement of the issues of Palestine and Kashmir, and its support for the occupying powers, as well as its unjustified military interventions in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, a large section of world public opinion began to describe it as an imperialist power rather than a peaceful democratic power. By using the weapon of veto in the United Nations Security Council indiscriminately and improperly, the United States adopted an attitude of supporting its promotion instead of eliminating oppression and oppression from the world, and thus badly affected the reputation of the United Nations and itself.

This behavior of American leadership is seen at new extremes today. The current President of the United States, Donald Trump, has become a god of war after claiming to end eight wars and being entitled to the Nobel Peace Prize on this basis. After the open aggression against Venezuela and the kidnapping of its leader, President Maduro, along with his wife, his open intentions to use the country's vast oil reserves for the United States indefinitely, and his declarations of aggression against several other countries after Venezuela, have taken away the air of his claims of peace friendship. Among these countries, Greenland, which is rich in rare minerals and administered by Denmark and is two thousand miles away from the United States, seems to be his first target. He is making open threats to Iran and has once again given clear indications of attacking it in collusion with Israel, apparently because Iran is a major obstacle in the path of the Greater Israel plan of the Zionist rulers who have adopted America. A few hours after the operation in Venezuela, President Trump warned Colombian President Gustavo Petro to also celebrate his chair. It should be noted that Venezuela's western neighbor Colombia is not only rich in oil reserves, but also has gold, silver, platinum, emeralds and coal mines. Like Venezuela and Colombia, Donald Trump accused Mexico of drug trafficking and said in a conversation with reporters last Sunday that it seems that something will have to be done against it. President Trump is turning global public opinion against not only himself but also his country. Instead of his country's position as the leader of the civilized world as a champion of human rights and peace and justice, Trump is proving it to be a force that imposes the law of the jungle in the world. With a recent move, he has also arranged to further solidify this impression. Yesterday, he announced the withdrawal of the United States from 66 international organizations, including 31 United Nations organizations, including several institutions and organizations on public health, climate change, and humanitarian assistance. In this way, President Trump himself is on the path of depriving his country of the leadership and leadership of the international community, which may lead to the end of America's international importance in the next few years, just as the Soviet Union was destroyed by former Russian President Gorbachev in the last decade of the last century. If this had happened, it is quite possible that Donald Trump would earn the title of American Gorbachev in world political history.
