Islamabad: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Opposition Leader Mahmood Achakzai of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan. The opposition alliance has decided to call an all-party conference to end the political and economic crisis.

According to the statement of the opposition alliance, the long march on September 27 will be a peaceful, constitutional and democratic struggle. On September 27, the people's right to rule will be taken back on the basis of popular power. All democratic political forces have gathered on one platform to bring the country out of the crisis. Inflation, unemployment, petrol prices, law and order are among the main agenda of the September 27 protest.

According to the statement, the opposition alliance formed committees to liaise with other political parties, discussed the law and order situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the proposed 28th Amendment and the establishment of new provinces. The statement said that the non-representative government has no authority to break up provinces or simply divide them into administrative units. Such proposals are harmful to the federation, national unity and federal structure. The provinces cannot be deprived of their constitutional rights in any referendum or in any other way.

The meeting especially emphasized the maintenance of the current geographical and administrative status of Sindh. The meeting demanded a direct meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan and provision of accurate information about his health. Raids on the homes of PTI workers, arrests, and violation of the sanctity of the chador and four walls were condemned. We condemn the behavior displayed during Sohail Afridi's visit to Punjab. According to the statement, it was agreed to immediately restore border trade, reject the Mines and Minerals Act, and demand that the relevant provinces and local populations be taken into confidence in decisions related to natural resources. The meeting discussed domestic politics, the ongoing crisis in the Middle East and its impact on Pakistan. Pakistan's effective diplomatic and mediation role was supported to defuse the growing tension in the region.
