According to family sources, the police stopped both of them at the checkpoint and checked them, after which they were taken into custody. According to the spokesperson, Aleema Khan never picked up a gun, threw stones at anyone, or created any problem or law and order situation for the people, yet her arrest is clear proof of this. The scope of political revenge has now extended beyond political activists to women in the homes. We condemn this move of the Punjab government in the strongest terms. This action exposes the true face of the Punjab government and the current oppressive system. Responding to political differences through arrests and targeting women instead of arguments, negotiations, and democratic processes is unacceptable under any circumstances. The government should immediately release Aleema Khan, as this practice of targeting women further highlights the weakness of this oppressive system and the severity of its political crisis.

In the wake of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s planned protest on September 27, PTI sources have claimed that several party leaders have been arrested in Islamabad.
According to PTI sources, Mian Muhammad Ghaus, Sanaullah Mastikhel and Senator Saifullah Niazi were detained near Express Chowk after leaving the Parliament Lodges and shifted to an unknown location. The sources further claimed that PTI MNAs Dawar Khan and Hamad Jamal Hassan Khan were arrested near Radio Pakistan Chowk in Mianwali, while the operation was carried out under the supervision of SHO Secretariat Saleem Raza. However, independent confirmation of these arrests has not yet been revealed by the police or any official source.
